A varicocele is a cluster of enlarged veins around the testis — often described as feeling like a 'bag of worms' — caused by faulty valves letting blood pool. It can cause a dull ache and is a common, correctable factor in male infertility. Embolisation fixes it through a pinhole, without an operation on the scrotum.
